Youth Empowerment Solutions (Our Youth)
As part of our commitment to recognizing and rewarding our youth, the Y.E.S. Mentor Group gave our young people the opportunity to choose a special activity they wanted to experience together. They chose Six Flags—and our parents and Y.E.S. Mentor Team came together to make it happen!
The trip was more than just a fun day away. It was an opportunity for our youth to enjoy the rewards of their participation, positive behavior, hard work, and commitment to the Y.E.S. program. From the rides and laughter to simply spending time together outside of our normal activities, they created memories that we hope will last for years to come.
Most importantly, our youth represented Y.E.S., A Gentle Touch Works, Inc., their families, and our community extremely well. They demonstrated respect, responsibility, and positive behavior throughout the trip, and we were proud of each of them.
We are especially grateful to the parents and Y.E.S. Mentor Team who helped turn the youth's choice into a reality. Because of their support, cooperation, time, and commitment, our young people were able to enjoy a well-deserved day of fun.
At Y.E.S., we believe our youth should not only be challenged to grow and succeed—they should also be celebrated when they do! Their smiles said it all: Six Flags was a great choice, and they truly enjoyed their day out! 🎢🎡❤️💙💚💛

Leading the TYAN Way
Leading the TYAN way means putting youth at the center of everything we do. Through our work with the Texas Youth Action Network (TYAN), we focus on empowering youth voice, fostering leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for growth. By guiding youth to set goals, make informed decisions, and take ownership of their journey, we are building confident, capable leaders for the future.
Setting Goals
At Y.E.S. Mentor Group, our Texas Youth Action Network (TYAN) goal setting process helps our youth take ownership of their future. Through structured goal setting, youth identify their strengths, set clear and achievable objectives, and develop action plans to succeed. This process not only builds confidence and accountability, but also equips them with lifelong skills in decision-making, planning, and personal growth.
Etiquette Workshop
Our young ladies recently attended an etiquette workshop where they learned essential life skills that will benefit them for years to come. The session focused on proper dining techniques, table manners, personal hygiene, grooming, and appropriate dress. These valuable lessons are helping to build confidence, self-respect, and the ability to present themselves with grace and professionalism in any setting.
Learning To Use Our Voices
Our YAP meeting focused on elevating youth voice, giving our youth the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences in a safe and supportive space. This discussion encouraged open communication, built confidence, and reinforced the importance of empowering youth to be active participants in decisions that impact their lives and their community.
